Run Setup Script on Lynx Cluster

For students using Lynx for the first time,

  • Open portal.lynx.hpc.psu.edu in your browser's guest or incognito mode.

  • Log in with your Penn State credentials (and authenticate if necessary).

  • Select Clusters > Shell Access (You'll likely have to complete 2 factor authentication again.)

We'll want to make a few updates to your Lynx environment. To make this easy, Emery has provided a script that you can easily run from a terminal window on Lynx,

bash /storage/egroup/hpc4astro/default/astro_528/scripts/class_setup

After you exit the terminal, your next Lynx session will automatically use those settings. Don't exit the terminal now, as you'll continue running commands on the terminal in the next step.

The next step is to setup git on Lynx.
